High levels of solid content means greater durability to traffic and scratches, the new Chimiver Ecostart Polyurethane Floor Lacquer has 32% solid content. This level of solid content for a single pack floor lacquer is outstanding. Quick drying times. You can apply 2 coats of the new Chimiver Ecostart Polyurethane Floor Lacquer within 4 hours. That's very good. It is not yellowing. The product is totally unaffected by UV light or most cleaning agents so it will not change colour over time. It is fume free. The product does not release fumes while being applied or after it has dried. It covers more surface than most water based floor lacquers. The coverage area actually depends on the surface where it is applied but assuming that the surface was sanded correctly and it was primed, the user should cover 60 sq meters of wood in 1 coat. It looks spectacular. The product does not create artificial looking finishes like some other brands of water based floor lacquers.

You can use the product to seal new or newly sanded wooden surfaces or it can be applied over pre-existing water based or solvent based floor lacquers. A fine quality water based floor lacquer with a thick consistency that can provide years of uninterrupted protection. It can be used to seal hardwood floors and semi solid wood floors, it can be used to seal worktops, furniture, frames, doors, toys, handles, etc. The product is as green as it can be. Not compatible with oil based wood stains but 100% compatible with water based floor stains.

Surface Preparation | Remove all pre-existing finishes or make sure that the old sealer is all intact but a bit dull. If the old sealer is likely to be overcoated, then making sure that the surface is spotless and dry is the most important step before lacquering. If dealing with badly damaged surfaces, then it has to be sanded until all the imperfections and all the old sealers are fully removed.

Application | Use a small varnishing brush and a large varnishing roller to apply the product. Make sure that you have enough product to cover the whole surface. The new Chimiver Ecostart Polyurethane Floor Lacquer has a recommended coverage area but it can vary dramatically depending on a number of factors. Using the small varnishing brush, apply the product around the edges and all the narrow areas where the varnishing roller is unlikely to fit. Apply one thick but even coat of floor lacquer. Allow it to dry for about 2 hours and then apply the last coat.
